The CARNIVAL is the most po-pular festival on every island. The BIRTHDAY OF THE DUTCH QUEEN on 30th of April is a nice event as well. The SAILING REGATTA around Bonaire and CURACAOS NATIONAL DAY on 2nd of July should not be missed.

The major happening on this island is the SUMMER FESTIVAL held in August. It starts in the morning hours with a parade and continues the whole day.

Antigua & Barbuda


Festivals
The most famous festival on Antigua is the yearly organized ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK. It is the largest sailing regatta world-wide and attracts ships from the whole world. This is a nice spec- tacular which is also popular among locals and non sailers. www.sailingweek.com
Another colourful festival is the ANTIGUA CARNIVAL in summer. There are many parades and live music on both islands. Barbados

Festivals
There are festivals the whole year long and every week there is an art, music or sport festival. Popular are the BARBADOS JAZZ FESTIVAL and the HOLDERS SEASON in January. The HOLETOWN FESTIVAL in Febru-ary celebrates the first settlers which arrived in 1627. It lasts one week and is very popular among the locals and tourists. The carnival called CON-GALINE and has it´s high spot at end of April.

The most popular and well known festi-val is the fishing turnament MILLION DOLLAR MONTH. The winner has to catch the biggest blue marlin. The AVIATION WEEK takes place in June and in October the PIRATES WEEK. Worth visiting are the many REGATTAS and the WINDSURFING COMPETITION

The people in Cuba like festivals. You listen to music nearly every-where. Highlight of the year is the CARNIVAL which lasts over 3 weeks in February. The CARNIVAL is the main festival of this island. It is very colourful and takes place in February. The FIES-TA DE PAOLO is a popular music spectacular which takes place in May and its worth a visit. There are also many small festivals which are celebrated locally.
