FESTIVAL held in August. It starts in the morning
hours with a parade and continues the whole day.

The most famous festival on Antigua is the yearly
organized ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK. It is the largest
sailing regatta world-wide and attracts ships from
the whole world. This is a nice spec- tacular which

Another colourful festival is the ANTIGUA CARNIVAL
in summer. There are many parades and live music

Festivals
There are festivals the whole year long and every
week there is an art, music or sport festival. Popular
are the BARBADOS JAZZ FESTIVAL and the HOLDERS SEASON
in January. The HOLETOWN FESTIVAL in Febru-ary celebrates
the first settlers which arrived in 1627. It lasts
one week and is very popular among the locals and
tourists. The carnival called CON-GALINE and has
it´s high spot at end of April.

The people in Cuba like festivals. You listen to
music nearly every-where. Highlight of the year
is the CARNIVAL which lasts over 3 weeks in February.
